Empty Yellow Royal Canadian Mint Monster Boxes

Used in Fully Functional Condition

$3.00

The Royal Canadian Mint sold 500 one-ounce Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins in these durable yellow plastic shipping "monster" boxes. These are the empty yellow boxes that were salvaged from a local private mint and bullion dealer that went out of business several years ago. I have a few dozen of these boxes, but I don't have any of the gold. See photos for details.

These boxes are great for storage of tools, parts, hardware. The neat thing is how the lids have lugs that interlock into slots in the base. The bases have ridges that also interlock with the top of another box it is stacked on. It means that a stack of these is very stable. See the pictures to see how cool this works. Note that they are not watertight, and if left outside in the rain or snow, they will get water inside (experience speaking). Keep them in your closet, on your workbench, or garage shelves.

Each box is 9.75 x 8 x 4.5 inches. The interior of the base is 8.5 x 6.75 x 3.125 inches, and the interior of the lid is 8.5 x 6.75 x 1 inches. All four sides have a wide central groove that was originally use for the bands that sealed the boxes.

Bullion dealers such as APMEX sell these empty boxes for about $17 to $25 to collectors. My prices are as follows:

1 - 10 boxes, $3.00 each, local pickup.
11-25 boxes, $2.00 each, local pickup.
Larger quantity discounts available. I do have a bunch of these.
Shipping arrangements can be arranged for an additional fee, FOB Carson City, Nevada.

Note that these have been stored outside for a few years and some have faded. They are sold for their function, not for their appearance. All are fully functional, and they might tolerate some cleaning once you receive them.
